Las Vegas!

Every year since we have been married we have gone to the Mountain West basketball tournament in Las Vegas. This year we decided to leave Ty home. Sandi and Barry were so nice to be willing to take him for the entire 5 days, he had so much fun! We went down with Chris and Tysen who also left all three of their kids home. We did not do a whole lot besides watch basketball but we were able to just relax and enjoy the warm weather! We stayed at a place called Loew's Lake Vegas Resort in Henderson. We had heard that it was really nice so we decided that even though it was about 20 minutes from the strip it would be worth it. We had a good time enjoying our freedom and being kidless but by the time it was time to come home we were ready to have Ty back home!

The other day Sean needed to go to one of our rentals and fix a problem, which just for the record he has become quite the handyman, he seems to be able to fix anything! I had a cold I could not seem to get over and so Ty was so sick of being stuck in the house in bed with me so he insisted on going with Sean! He was in pajamas that the top did not even match the bottoms and then he insisted on wearing his blue rainboots to complete the outfit, he looked so cute! They were walking out the door when Ty remembered he did not have his tools like his dad so he ran upstairs grabbed his bucket full of tools and raced off to be with his dad, they have so much fun together! He seems to be liking his dad more than me these days, I am not liking that at all!

Boys will be boys!

Ty is such a boy! The porters were over the other day to watch American Idol with us and next thing we know Brock says to Ty, "let's go take our shirts off and wrestle!" They had so much fun! It is great for Ty to have a guy friend to play with, he is always wanting to wrestle and his cute girl cousins don't seem to think it is so fun!

Ty's 4-wheeler mishap!

Ty loves to ride 4-wheelers and we are always very strict about the helmet rule, no helmet, not ride! Well I forgot his helmet this weekend and figured we were only riding up and down the street and on the snow covered lawn, what could possibly happen! I decided to take him over a snow hill and the 4-wheeler hit a bump and Ty flew forward and hit his head on the handlebars. He cut his nose and eye and ended up with a pretty bad black eye, the picture does not do it justice! I felt so bad, I guess it just goes to show you that there is a reason for always wearing a helmet! Luckily it did not slow him down at all, he kept running to look in the mirror and he would say, "I look really cool don't I mom!" Needless to say the rest of the afternoon he wore a helmet everytime he went near the 4-wheelers!

Sledding at Grandpa and Grandma Brown's!

We went to Price this weekend to visit my parents. They have been getting so much snow this year and to top it off they live on the wrong side of the road, not it never seems to melt! The snow on their front lawn was higher than than porch, it was incredible! We got out the 4-wheelers and pulled the kids on sleds, Sean and Barry did their usual hobby of getting the 4-wheelers stuck and having to get out the wench and ropes to pull out the machines! Sean spent hours digging a snowcave, which turned out to be very cool, I finally understand why the scouts find it fun to make snow caves and sleep in them, I would love to try it! It is always fun to go home for the weekend!

BYU Earth Science Museum

Sandi and I decided that we needed to get ourselves out of the house, so naturally we headed to the BYU Earth Science Museum! When we pulled up to the building that looked like an aluminum parking structure my first instinct was to call Sean and tell him he had led us astray, no way was there a museum in there. And if there was, it was not worth going inside! We were a bit surprised! It was indeed very small, but it is so kid friendly. Ty and Amelia could run around, touch the fossils, and be as loud as they wanted! They had a lot of cool dinosaur fossils, rocks, fish and plant fossils, and a turtle! It actually turned out to be a lot of fun for the kids as well as Sandi and I!

Obsession with Cars

As you can tell from the pictures Ty has a slight fascination with the Cars movie. He started off with 2-3 cars and the obsession grew from there. I would love to say that the obsession is only limited to Ty, but I have found that I am a bit obsessed myself. Everytime I go to a store that may possibly sale cars I find myself walking straight to the cars aisle in hopes of finding yet another hard to find car! I get so excited when I find a new car he does not have, which is a very hard task since at last count he had 56 of the cars! We had been looking for "tounge lightning" for so long, we walked into Kmart the other day and they had him! I immedietly grabbed him and said, "no freaking way, we found him!" For the remainder of the time we were at the store Ty kept saying, "no freaking way mom, this is so cool!" Needless to say, I am not helping the situation much when I seem to love them as much as Ty!

Growth Chart!

My friend Jackie invited me over to make growth charts with her. I figured this would be a project that would take a couple hours at the most and I would return home with a professional looking product! I was wrong on all accounts! We started at 9:30 am and ended up finishing at about 3:30 pm. Out of the three of us there working on our growth charts I was the only one that even finished! I loved the idea of the project and Ty thinks I am very talented, but truth be told in person it is a complete mess! Good thing for the great company, we had so much fun working on them!

Ty, Darby and Kayla

Lately Ty has been obsessed with the color pink! I guess in today's day and age it is not a big deal for guys to wear pink, no reason for alarm right! We were over at the Lamb's late one night and Ty wanted to wear a pair of Kayla's PJ's when he opened her drawer and saw the pink PJ's he acted as if he had just won the lottery! Needless to say he was not too excited about having to give them back to Kayla! He absolutely loves his cousins and they all play so cute together, I love this picture of them!

Ty last day of nursery!

Ty loves to go to church, especially during the days of nursery! He loves to play with the kids, the toys, and especially the treats! The first picture is of Ty's last day of nursery notice he is smiling in this picture. The second picture is of his first day of Sunbeams, he was not happy about this new phase of life! He has come to really like singing time but he still has to put up a fight every Sunday before going into primary! Notice the lack of a belt in the second picture, I had gone and bought him a new church outfit to start primary, who knew that little boys pants would not have belt loops! Oh well I will have to fix that, then maybe he will not look so goofy next time!

How long have you been married? 8 1/2 exciting years! There is never a dull moment at our house!
How long did you date? 8 months It seems so crazy that you can fall in love so quickly!

Who eats more? Depends on the day and what it is, but luckily Sean will mostly out eat me!
Who said I love you first? Sean, a very entertaining story but too long to go into all the details!
Who is smarter? I would say Sean, he seems to have a quick answer to everything even though half the time you can tell it is made up!
Whose temper is worse? Neither of us really have a temper, but I tend to get upset more often than Sean
Who does the laundry? Me, I don't know if Sean even knows where the washing machine is!
Who does the dishes? Me for the most part, we have a deal Sean cooks and I clean up after him!

Who pays the bills? I do, Sean would have no clue if we had one dollar of a million dollars in the bank!
Who cooks dinner? Sean generally cooks, Ty will play with his girl cousins who love to play house and he is always the dad when we ask him what he is doing he says" I am cooking, I'm the dad!" So I think that tells you who cooks at our house!
Who drives when you are together? Sean, I avoid driving if I can, I love to be the passenger!
Who is more stubborn? Me, the older I get I find myself being way more stubborn!
Whose parents do you see the most? We see Sean's more often because they live close, but we spend more long weekends with my family!

Who has more friends? I would say it is pretty equal! We have been lucky enough to have found couples that we love to spend time with that everyone gets along!

Who wears the pants in the family? I think it's pretty equal, we both have things that we are not too willing to compromise on but everything else we tend to decide and carry out together!

Christmas morning!

This year we decided to have matching pajamas, much easier said than done! I searched at every store I could find for pajamas that were the same for the three of us and it was quite a task, the night before we left for price I finally found three pairs that were at least all the same color. Ty thought it was so cool to see us all in the same pajamas! He was so much fun this year since he finally understood the concept of Santa, he loved leaving him cookies and water! The picture of Frank the Combine from cars was Sean's creation. They do not make Frank so Sean had to make it, Ty loved it and I thought he did a great job! After Ty opened the Dinoco Helicopter he could not care less about the rest of his gifts. I quess Santa should have listened and only got the one thing he wanted! We had a great Christmas is was so great to spend so much time with our families, we love them so much and appreciate all they do for us!

Christmas in Price!

We always spend the days leading up to Christmas until Christmas Eve with my family in Price. This year we were extra lucky to be able to go down on Friday and stay until Monday, we had so much fun together. We love to go shoot the guns out in the desert (as we call it!) by my parents house. My parents had a lot of old Christmas glass balls so my dad hiked clear across the snow to put them on the mountain which come to find out was way to far away to shoot especially with the pistols! So Sean went to collect most of them and decorated the closer trees. Between Stacey and Sean, mostly Stacey, the balls did not stand a chance! Stacey hit at least 80% of the balls she has great aim, don't mess with her! Ty thought it was so cool to shoot a real gun!

Sean's Sunday nightmare!

We are so lucky to have family so close to always come to the rescue! Jeff, Wendy and Darrin spent all day Sunday helping us clean up the disaster! Ty also was a huge help! He was right in the middle of all the chaos helping out however he could. Today me and Ty spent the morning filling in the huge hole that was dug in our front yard. He had so much fun, I am not sure if he got more dirt on me or in the hole! Thanks to everyone that helped!

Ty's Sunday adventure!

On Sunday morning we were getting ready to go to Chris and Tysen's twin boys blessing but our sprinker system had something else in mind for us that day! Sean went downstairs and heard water rushing and his worst nightmare came to life! One of our sprinker pipes had blown a cap and we had a wall of water shooting out of it which was flooding our basement! We just bought our home a few months ago and we were in the process of trying to find the hidden water shut off valve when the snow hit and covered our lawn, needless to say we did not find it in time! We had to call the emergency water number which was not open (not a great 24 hour emergency number) and they called dispatch to help us shut off the water. By the time we were able to shut off the water the fire department was already on it's way! When the fire truck showed up Ty was in heaven! The firemen were so nice, they picked him up took him for a personal tour of the fire engine! His sunday adventure was Sean's worst nightmare!

Christmas Fun!

Ty was so excited to have his very own Christmas Tree in his room this year! He picked the tree out, put on extra color lights, (with a little help!) picked out and hung his own ornaments, and then the finishing touch was putting his Thomas the Train set around his tree, just like his Dad!
We then thought for family night we would go to the mall and see Santa! We have been telling him that he needs to go tell Santa that he wants the dinoco helicopter for Christmas, he said he would sit on his lap and tell him so off we went! This was not exactly what happened! When we got to the mall he instantly noticed the train they had going around Santa and of course he had to go for a ride on that! Then we went to go see Santa, there was no line so we were able to walk right up to him and as you can tell from the pictures Ty was wanting nothing to do with him! Santa was very nice but Ty never seemed to warm up to him. Right as we were leaving he leaned over and screamed out to Santa, "I want the Dinoco helicopter!" Ty thought the trip was a success, he got to ride on the train, have very little interaction with Santa, and he was able to tell him what he wanted for Christmas! We had a great night!
Sean and Ty love their trains! Every year Sean gets more and more anxious to set up the tree when in reality it is all about setting up his precious train! Ty has been doing very good this year at being nice to the train and not destroying it!

Thanksgiving!

This year for Thanksgiving we went to my parents house. My mom got some cute turkey hat projects for the kids to make, they loved them! We are still actively potty training so notice one again that Ty is not clothed in this picture, infact he is rarely ever dressed these days! I am happy to say we are making huge strides in the potty training department!

Ty heading to the BYU football game!

Ty loves to go to the BYU football games! He loves Cosmo and singing the fight song. We knew that the game was going to be cold so we got out some warm clothes for him and then he had to pack his cars suitcase to go to the game. He packed 3 cars, treats, games, and lots of extra warm clothes for himself as well as his mom and dad! He was very disappointed when we would not let him take it into the game! Luckily BYU won and the whole night was a success!

The highlight of the trip!

On Ty's birthday we decided to go to MGM studios and see Lightning McQueen he absolutely loved it! When he first saw him and Mater drive up he had a smile that literally went from ear to ear he was so excited! They are life size cars that actually drive, it was really cool!

DISNEY WORLD!

Sean's parents decided to take the whole family to Disney World for the week! We had so much fun! Ty was so excited for the airplane, he sat looking out the window at the big, big, big, hugemongous airplanes the entire time we were at the airport. He was convinced we were going to take Jeremy the airplane from Thomas and Friends! We bought him some cars sunglasses the first day and he thought he was so cool wearing them he wore them for the majority of the trip! We were able to celebrate his birtday at Disney World and they made him feel like a king! Ty and his cousin Jase are best buds! They love to play together, and most of all create extreme chaos!

Happy Birthday Ty!

We celebrated Ty's birthday the night before we left on our trip to Disney World! Both of our families were able to come so the party was a success! We always have so much fun when we all get together! Ty loves Lightning McQueen so he loved to have that as his birthday cake! He insisted on cake with candy in it and cherries on the top, he also asked for M&M's in the cake and strawberries on the top as well, but somehow we managed to avoid that! I can't believe he is already 3!

Ty's early birthday present

Ty has developed a new obsession with trains so when his cousin Christopher brought over his train table and trains that he didn't want anymore he was so excited! He has been playing with and rearranging the train tracks, villages, and people constantly he loves it!

Sean's Birthday

Sean turned 33 a few weeks ago so we decided to celebrate by going to lunch to Brick Oven and then coming home to watch the BYU vs. New Mexico game. Luckily they won so it turned out to be a great birthday!

We have been attempting to do the potty training thing and it is not going that well! He went to the store and picked out Cars underwear and had to have them on! He decided they would be cute on the outside of his pajamas! Don't kids look so cute when they attempt to dress themselves!
